Death Proof.

On friday I saw Grindhouse with my brother. My brother is a huge movie guy. His fav. job ever was working at Suncoast Video and he now works at Blockbuster..lol. Anyway, we knew what to expect when we went to see Grindhouse. I loved a House of a 1,000 corpses (the only person who stood there watching the movie..lol) and love when people make movies meant to be part of a certain genre. We saw the 10 o'clock viewing and was suprised there wasn't a line.

See the title of this posting is called "DEATH PROOF" not GRINDHOUSE for a reason. I didn't like Planet Terror. I have never been a zombie movie type of guy. My brother thought it was great but he digs that type of stuff. The only movie I liked that can be linked to that genre is Shawn of the Dead but that was meant to be a comedy.lol. But because I don't like Zombie Movies I don't have the right to question its worth so I'm leaving it alone.

But Death Proof was my shit. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it. And I also loved the trailers for fake movies before and in between the Planet Terror and Death Proof. I def. think everyone should watch this movie. There is something for everybody in here.

Saturday. 4.8.07

Went to Kidrobot yesterday with my boy Julez. I wanted to go to Union to get a Mishka fitted I saw there last week. Of course they are sold out.. o well. Julez wanted some Sneaks for Freaks and I wanted some Tattoo Dunnys but guess what? The Tattoo Dunnys were sold out..lol. I knew both were sold out online but figured they might be in the store.

I walked in Kidrobot and it was packed. I remember the good old days when it wasn't but since every hiphop dude has a kidrobot hoodie the clothes are flying off the racks. I got some Sneaks for Freaks for Julez and picked up two boxes for myself. I didnt really pay attention to the description online about it but I figured it was the whole collection for 8 bucks... lol. NOT! I should know better. It's one pair per box. Blind packed at that. Julez couldn't find parking so I was waiting for him to drive back around and I was listening to people walk up to the window and talk. It went something like this.... "It's just a fad!", "yeah kidrobot is hot right now but I've been collecting a long time", and if I knew more then english and spanish I probably would have hear plenty more.

Kidrobot has now become a tourist spot. Cool to me but like one dude said it might make things look like a fad. I think the clothing is a fad. I also think this is where kidrobot is focusing all their attention on too. That's not good. The tattoo dunnys are a really cool idea and I hope they keep pumping out some more hot shyt.

After leaving NYC we drove around Jersey City looking for Packers Sneaker store. I've heard about Packers from all the sneaker heads in jersey so now that they have one in J.C. I figured I'd check it out. Calling 411 sent me and Julez on a wild goose chase. So we didn't find it and the phone number they gave me just kept ringing. So while we were finding our way home we passed a Fat Burger. I knew it was there cause my boy Draco took me and my kids there to eat once. See Julez' brother lives in Cali and he loves him some fat burger. So if your in the Jersey City area and want some fat burger just look it up and you'll find it.

Ban 50 Cent! lol

Following the anti Tony Yayo and 50 Cent campaign launched last week after Yayo allegedly slapped Jimmy Henchman's 14 year old son, 50 Cent posted the following picture on his myspace and also bought the domain name 'ban50cent.com.'Yesterday on the radio, 50 Cent 50 proclaimed Yayo's innocence: "In this case, they are just putting his name in it," 50 said. "[Yayo] didn't hit him."

Linkin Park

What I've Done - Linkin Park Clip !
Uploaded by JBstarr

Here's Linkin Park's new song. Now I'm not sure if I still like LP. I remember getting the first album and loving it. The second album lasted in my cd player maybe a week. So we'll see if this song will grow on me to the point of me buying the album. It seems that dude isnt rapping in it anymore. I have always loved the videos that they put out. But I'm not feeling them showing Che and Castro in the "bad guys" portion of the video.. to each their own. I remember the first time I heard of Linkin Park was the day I got Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. Me and the whole GTF crew went to NYC's Virgin Megastore to pick it up at midnight. When I got the cd there was Linkin Park street team outside of the place passing out free "tapes" of their first single. I think we listened to that tape with a bunch of snippets of the album more then Limp Biskit's album..lol. But we all got the Linkin Park cd and rocked it for awhile. Memories run through my head everytime I hear one of the songs from their first album. But it wasn't the same feeling about the second album. We will see with this one.....

Alanis Morissette "My Humps" video parody

I loved Alanis Morissete a couple of years back... in college (somewhere between 97-01) But it started to piss me off after awhile that it started to sound too much alike... blah blah blah.. but this is funny. Maybe I'll like her better when she comes out with a first single if she really is coming out with another album.

This is the song that turned me out to her! I think it was to the soundtrack to City of Angels cause all my boys was clowning me for having it. lol.. memories... I miss Berkeley...

Blokhedz

I love Blokheadz! From the art all the way to the attitude of the characters. Something the youth of the inner cities of the world can feel. Think 8 Mile meets Juice. When I first picked the comic up it brought me back to the days of Milestone comics and Brotherman comics. The art is sick and the storyline was great. I've seen some people do underground hiphop comics and it would come out super cheesy but this was great and hitting the right audiance. I was just on the web-site and they have a article written for a magazine called Format. Check it out here.
If you have never read any of the comics you should grab one over here. I had the figures for sell and when I was at the Meadowlands Flea Market it was a eye catcher for everyone who walked by. It also was a little too pricey for them too..lol. But being in the collectors world that we are in, it wasn't as bad as they thought it was. I def. hope they make more comics, collectables and if they can get an animated series out of it, that would be great too.
