The Sound of Art presents the work of accomplished artist, Ivette Urbaez, with its latest offering, SEPTEMBER TWELFTH; an urbane and thought-provoking collection of enigmatic pieces created by this seasoned and globetrotting artist.
Born In the Dominican Republic but currently residing in New York City, Ivette Urbaez is a born artist who has traveled the world extensively; her work is seamlessly and simultaneously, both global and local. Her life, travels and experiences are masterfully woven into her creations, which are vibrant, daring and at times somewhat menacing.
There is also an elusive and esoteric streak of dissent and protest that runs through Ivette Urbaez's work. Case in point: September 12th, the piece that gives this art exhibit its name, this painting is actually a rendering of a photograph taken by the artist on September 12th, 2001 in the area around the World Trade Center. You can feel the fear, alienation and intensity that emanates from this bold and stirring work of art.
It's a Dominican Thing, the restaurant that The New York Times refers to as an "enticing education" on Dominican cuisine and culture, once again plays host to the festivities. Since this Dominican bistro opened its door in 2004 it has been wowing patrons with its inspired and thoroughly authentic approach to Dominican cooking. Ivette Urbaez's work will be on display and on sale at this fine eatery for a month after the initial event.
The Sound of Art is committed to continually pushing boundaries and challenging its patrons with innovative and next-level content. SOA definitely achieves that benchmark and more with September 12th, a poignant collection from an artist that definitely belongs on the radars of those who appreciate fine art.
