Jimmy Buff's Italian Hotdog

I grew up on Jimmy Buff's. I saw in the paper that they are celebrating their 75th year of business. Funny thing is I didn't know that they INVENTED the Italian Hotdog. It makes sense cause everytime I go somewhere and ask if they have Italian Hotdogs they look at me crazy. The picture above is from their Irvington location that is shut down. Now they only have three locations: East Hanover, Scotch Plains and West Orange. What I also didn't know is the first one was in Newark NJ. Actually it's in my hood, 14th Ave. and 9th Street. Monday I was passing by there and realized that they have a Italian Hot dog spot there now.. but it's not Jimmy Buff's. To celebrate their anniversary the are having two specials that will last the month of August. Monday Madness where you can get Pushcart (whatever that means) Hot dogs for 99 cent with toppings and Fat Tuesdays (they must know I'm coming) where you can get anything double for the price of singles. Hmmm.... well check out their website here.
