Chelsea Lightning Round October 2007

James Kalm runs through Chelsea and selects some of the most interesting exhibitions from a vast spectrum of recent shows. Beginning with the cartoon "Pop" of Kenny Scharf's "NEW!" at Paul Kasmin, we transition to the sublimely meditative works of Wolfgang Laib and his major installation "Without Time-Without Place-Without Body" at Sean Kelly. Mary Boone presents a collaborative installation of newspaper headline drawings by Aleksandra Mir titled "Newsroom 1986-2000", and we wrap up with a painting show of hard-bitten grotesque realism by Michael Cline at Daniel Reich Gallery
