El Cantante trailer #2

I was coming to work today and heard Marc Anthony singing Mi Gente. One of Hector Lavoe's most loved songs. Here's the song I found it on Youtube.

The Brooklyn Way

The half-hour show offers a rare glimpse at two true New York City icons, Mr. Kaves, a/k/a Michael McLeer, and his brother DJ ADM, a/k/a Adam McLeer, raising their families in Brooklyn, New York while pursuing their dream. Kaves is a legendary graffiti artist and musician, widely recognized as a pioneer in every aspect of early hip-hop and street culture. Together, Kaves and ADM have a long successful history in the music industry, previously as the group Lordz of Brooklyn, and most recently joining together as just The Lordz, and releasing their new album The Brooklyn Way.

“‘The Brooklyn Way’ offers viewers a unique look into the lives of two New York City music icons as they juggle pursuing their dreams and providing for their families. This series reinforces MSG’s commitment to increasing the variety of our content across multiple platforms.”
Through 10 episodes of “The Brooklyn Way,” Kaves and ADM bring viewers along on their groundbreaking personal and professional journeys.

A rollercoaster of emotions is exhibited throughout: From Kaves struggle to gain notoriety from an extremely early age, to his career as an artist and musician, to what is ultimately the most important aspect of both their lives: raising their children and maintaining a strong family in the same blue-collar neighborhood and on the same Brooklyn streets that reared both brothers. Watching Kaves take his kids to the Adidas headquarters to design a new shoe, or to Disneyland on a family vacation, viewers cannot help but root for this family and cherish the life lessons they are able to pass down, as only The Lordz can: The Brooklyn Way!

Along the way, many of the brothers close friends, mentors and business associates will make appearances on the show, including Chuck D (Public Enemy), D.M.C. (RUN DMC), Everlast (House of Pain), Fabel (Rock Steady Crew), Tim Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen (Rancid), Rick Thorne (Pro BMX rider) and legendary graffiti artists Stash2, Futura, and Lee Quinones.
Tunnel Vizion Media, owned by Kaves and his wife, Donna, produced “The Brooklyn Way.”
Check out the Website here!

This is the episode that I saw and I loved it. I don't know how much I'll like the other shows but this one had Futura and I learned alot of stuff that I didn't know about him. It's worth a try.

DYING - MAVADO featuring Serani

Mavado is my fav. deejay right now.

Aidonia - Ah You/Gal Don't Bawl

Bright Eyes - Hot Knives

Haha... I must... no, no... I know I'm the only dude in the hood who listens to Bright Eyes..lol. My boy Dan put me on to him when I used to work in the mailroom.

Hector Lavoe- Juanito Alimaña

No person my age would probably understand the love I have for this guy. Hector Lavoe was Puerto Ricans' Marvin Gaye. He brought the streets of Puerto Rico & New York to the latin american world. Everytime I hear a song by this guy it makes the hairs on my neck stand up. Hector Lavoe turned me from a straight Hiphop head to a lover of late 70's & early *80's salsa. This was the hood music for my parents generation.

Marc Anthony & Jennifer Lopez are making a movie about him that will come out in August about him called "El Cantante" with means "the singer".

When I was 18 I went with my parents to see a play about him off of Broadway about his live and one of the most respected Salsa writer & singer Domingo Quinonez played him.

Common - The People

How can you not love Common. This def. has to be produced by Kayne West.

Chavez Warns of Resistance War With U.S.

By CHRISTOPHER TOOTHAKER,

Associated Press Writer
Mon Jun 25, 1:47 AM

CARACAS, Venezuela - President Hugo Chavez urged soldiers on Sunday to prepare for a guerrilla-style war against the United States, saying that Washington is using psychological and economic warfare as part of an unconventional campaign aimed at derailing his government.

Dressed in olive green fatigues and a red beret, Chavez spoke inside Tiuna Fort _ Venezuela's military nerve-center _ before hundreds of uniformed soldiers standing alongside armored vehicles and tanks decorated with banners reading: "Fatherland, Socialism, or Death! We will triumph!"

"We must continue developing the resistance war, that's the anti-imperialist weapon. We must think and prepare for the resistance war everyday," said Chavez, who has repeatedly warned that American soldiers could invade Venezuela to seize control of the South American nation's immense oil reserves.

U.S. officials reject claims that Washington is considering a military attack. But the U.S. government has expressed concern over what it perceives as a significant arms build-up here.

Chavez _ a close ally of Cuban leader Fidel Castro _ told soldiers the Washington was trying to weaken and divide Venezuelan society, including the armed forces, without resorting to combat.

"It's not just armed warfare," said Chavez, a former army officer who is leading what he calls the "Bolivarian Revolution," a socialist movement named after 19th-century independence hero Simon Bolivar. "I'm also referring to psychological warfare, media warfare, political warfare, economic warfare."

Under Chavez, Venezuela has recently purchased some $3 billion worth of arms from Russia, including 53 military helicopters, 100,000 Kalashnikov rifles, 24 SU-30 Sukhoi fighter jets.

Last week, Chavez said he is considering arms purchases, including submarines and a missile-equipped air defense system, as he prepares for a tour of Russia, Belarus and Iran.

"We are strengthening Venezuela's military power precisely to avoid imperial aggressions and assure peace, not to attack anybody," he said Sunday.

Opposition leader Julio Borges condemned the president's interest in acquiring weapons, saying the government should focus on reducing violent crime in Venezuela, which has one of the highest homicide rates in Latin America.

"This isn't resolved with military purchases and foreign tours," Borges said. "This is resolved with the determination of having a country with justice."

What's funny is I told people at my job this would be more likely to happen since now the pres. has more reason to go into South America after the people that were going to bomb the airport in NY were found out to be South American...

Deftones- Back To School

WOWWWW!!!! I was just going through the WB Records Youtube channel and I came across this video... Damn I loved this album. HMMM... the good old days.

Green Day - Working Class Hero

I guess I'll keep the rock thing going and throw this one in the mix. I love this song.. WOW! is there a meaning behind it?.... lol

GYM CLASS HEROES: Clothes Off!!

I figured since I finished talking about their boys I might as well put up their new video. They really seem like cool ass dudes. Love the song so much it's my song on the myspace page. lol.

Fall Out Boy- Thnks fr th Mmrs

I really like their album. I've NEVER paid much attention to these guys until my brother started making me watch their videos and I realized how cool they were. Then I found out that they are the ones that put Gym Class Heroes on so that was another plus. But what took the cake (and made me laugh my ass off) was when they were on TRL and they had R.O.C chains on.lol. So now I'm a fan.

Aunt Jackie

I wish I knew where the people who view my blog are from but there's no way to tell. Well if your from the East Coast of North America, up North stylee you might know this already. But for the ones who don't there's a new dance called the Aunt Jackie. Harlem is really setting all the trends in NYC and the better part of the tri-state right now. All the kids are dressing either like the kids from harlem or like Jim Jones so it's all the same. I hope you know what the Chicken Noodle Soup is... well if you don't heres the video.

Well here's the Aunt Jackie their new song and dance to go with it. From what I can tell Jason Foxx is taking credit for the song but there are plenty of people taking the song and running with it on youtube. The first video is there hood version of it. The second clip is of some other people taking credit of it. And the last is the making of the new jason foxx's aunt jackie video. I went on limewire to download it for my daughter and webstar and company already have a remix to it.

Dudes like making fun of these kids, how this isn't hiphop and this is a sad excuse for music. Bah! They are just made that they are old.lol. My boy Tab $ Cuttah put me on to this song because he saw all the kids doing it at a cook out and thought I knew about it. To tell you the truth I don't even know where these Newark kids get all these Harlem exclusives from. But once they put the new version of it on youtube I'll put it on the blog.

Tegano, Joell Ortiz, & Tony Sunshine--Source Cipha!

I've never heard of this Tegano dude but he ripped it. Joell Ortiz is a little too over hyped if you ask me but he still delivers and I get chills when Tony starts singing that real shit! Tony reminds me of Chico DeBarge.

The Borinqueneers

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to join Verizon at the World Theatrical Premiere of The Borinqueneers to be held on
Friday, July 13, 2007
at the Newark Museum,
49 Washington Street, Newark, NJ.
from 6:00 to 9:30 pm.

A reception will be held, followed by the film and a Q&A Session with the film's producer Ms. Noemi Figueroa Soulet. This event is a fund-raiser for the New Jersey Hispanic Research and information Center (NJHRIC) at the Newark Public Library.

The Borinqueneers chronicles the story of the all-Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Regiment, the only Hispanic segregated unit in U.S. Army history. Using rare archival footage and intimate interviews, this film explores the exploits and painful tribulations of these now-forgotten veterans. Risking their lives to further the cause of democracy, these soldiers from the U.S. colony of Puerto Rico, were drafted but were not afforded full citizenship rights. Many served and died valiantly. During the Korean War they would face their toughest challenge,.

Big Things Poppin' Cassidy Freestyle

@ first I didn't pay attention to this clip when my co-worker showed it to me today but as I watched it a second time I quickly changed my mind. It's just that I think T.I.'s new album is going to be not my type of music and with the first to songs is proving that to me. But it's Fab & Cass. and usually that's good money. But the real reason I didn't like it at first view was Swizz and his sometimes annoying voice doing the hook...lol

In My Hood - 50 cent

This has been one of my fav. 50 Cent songs to date. I was a 50 Cent fan when he was only a mixtape dude but before the G-Unit mixtapes. I've been to Southside Jamaica Queens and this song explains it perfectly. I've never been one to say somebody else's hood is crazy but this was the first and only place in my life history of feeling some type of way..lol. My boy Gundo was selling his 92' supped up Nissian Sentra aka Da Monsta to these dudes in Southside. We were 3 cars heavily deep and I was still watching niggas that was walking by..lol.

Nike Air Jordan "Blackcat"s

Sneakerhead, Sneakerhead, sneakerhead! The Wow's of being a Sneakerhead...

I was never ever a Jordan fan, I was a die hard NY Knicks fan(Pat Riley era) and I didn't want anything to do with Jordan or the Bulls. By the time I was a senior in high school Patrick Ewings was played out but I still rocked them. People didn't even know John Starks had his own kicks and so did Anthony Mason. I wore them all. I even copped some NY Knicks sneakers from East Bay. I dont remember was company made them but I had them. And let's not forget my X-Mans...lol. If you dont know Google it.haha.

But after high school not only did I give up on the Knicks but I gave up on the NBA. It has turned into such a pussy sport it kills me. I was in love with a game that has two sides to it, the offense AND the defense. So a little before my 10 year leave of the sport I once loved I copped my first pair of Jordans. I never said I didn't like Jordan I just didn't like the fact that they were kicking the Knicks asses every year..lol.

Last summer I copped my second pair of Jordans- Air Jordan Dub-Zero's. Just on the design and all the f'ing detail I was amazed. I loved them then and I still love them. I just got the Air Jordan 1 Retro LS Stealth three weeks ago and now I am here because I just got the Blackcat... WOW! Beautiful piece of art!

U-N-I- K.R.E.A.M.

Beenie Man - Trendsetters

I love this song. The part that gets me is the parts when he talks about Travel Fox and Buffalino shoes. I had plenty of both. My aunt worked for both companies in the early to mid 90's. They had some of the illest colorways ever. They were far ahead of their time because if they were out now they would fit right in with every other company's color scheme's. The illest pair I had was these Grey and Burgundy. Those were fire to me. No other company would mess with the colors that Cross Colours was put out then. But don't get me wrong. They were never the hot kicks in the streets. I used to get shit for rocking them all the time. The only love I got was from all the west indians in my school.lol.

It looks like A Bathing Ape will be collaborating with DC Comics for this full zip up Batman hoodie that are set to be released next season. Rumor has it that there will be a set of matching footwear. Will there be more character hoodies from this collaboration? We’ll have to wait and see.

M.I.A. Boyz

This video is for my bro-ham... lol. He loves this chick!
It was strange yesterday not reporting or posting any videos yesterday. That's a first for my blog. I usually have something to post. Today is a very small difference to this. I think I've always had a short version of ADD. I surf the web everyday for new info and with the short (I'm starting to think not so much) list I have to the right I tend to find plenty of stuff to throw on my blog. Yesterday was my "Heroes" day, I watched about four episodes of it online.

I posted something about every 15th of the month I'll be doing interviews & putting up pictures of some of my fav. spots in NJ. Well luck is on my side..... NOT.... at this point in time I can't get ahold of a camera worth me using and my BETTER HALF is with me for the rest of the summer. Which by the way means that you'll be seeing plenty of her on here soon enough. Well here's a little preview of my shorttee....

This was in December at Johnny Rocket's in Short Hills Mall in Nj

Alejandro Sanz Y Shakira-Te lo agradezco, pero no

I love Alejandro Sanz (no homo..lol) voice. He is an incredible singer with a beautiful voice but I've always had a problem with the music he chooses to use. So it's a 50/50 chance I might like it. Shakira is also a great artist, which for me is hard to say because when she first came out on the scene I thought she was just stealing Alanis Morissette's whole style just in Spanish. But this is a beautiful song from to beautiful artists.
