George Condo Paintings the Last Ten Years, at NICHOLAS ROBIN


James Kalm begins this report by sneaking an unauthorized peak at the installation of the upcoming Jason Rhoades exhibition at David Zwirner Gallery. This mini-retrospective of George Condo tracks his work over the last decade. As a painter who came of age during the East Village heydays, his presence on the New York scene has ebbed and flowed. However with the renewed interest in expressionistic figuration and the taboos of "good taste" engaging a younger generation of artists, Condo is receiving deserved attention for his perseverance and influence, witnessed by recent auction price records for his paintings
