The half-hour show offers a rare glimpse at two true New York City icons, Mr. Kaves, a/k/a Michael McLeer, and his brother DJ ADM, a/k/a Adam McLeer, raising their families in Brooklyn, New York while pursuing their dream. Kaves is a legendary graffiti artist and musician, widely recognized as a pioneer in every aspect of early hip-hop and street culture. Together, Kaves and ADM have a long successful history in the music industry, previously as the group Lordz of Brooklyn, and most recently joining together as just The Lordz, and releasing their new album The Brooklyn Way.
“‘The Brooklyn Way’ offers viewers a unique look into the lives of two New York City music icons as they juggle pursuing their dreams and providing for their families. This series reinforces MSG’s commitment to increasing the variety of our content across multiple platforms.”
Through 10 episodes of “The Brooklyn Way,” Kaves and ADM bring viewers along on their groundbreaking personal and professional journeys.
A rollercoaster of emotions is exhibited throughout: From Kaves struggle to gain notoriety from an extremely early age, to his career as an artist and musician, to what is ultimately the most important aspect of both their lives: raising their children and maintaining a strong family in the same blue-collar neighborhood and on the same Brooklyn streets that reared both brothers. Watching Kaves take his kids to the Adidas headquarters to design a new shoe, or to Disneyland on a family vacation, viewers cannot help but root for this family and cherish the life lessons they are able to pass down, as only The Lordz can: The Brooklyn Way!
Along the way, many of the brothers close friends, mentors and business associates will make appearances on the show, including Chuck D (Public Enemy), D.M.C. (RUN DMC), Everlast (House of Pain), Fabel (Rock Steady Crew), Tim Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen (Rancid), Rick Thorne (Pro BMX rider) and legendary graffiti artists Stash2, Futura, and Lee Quinones.
Tunnel Vizion Media, owned by Kaves and his wife, Donna, produced “The Brooklyn Way.”
